Mission
Ensure that the projects made in house or outsourced are compliant with the contract and system requirements. Ensure that the BIM Process is correctly managed according to the Project needs and Hitachi Rail processes.
Accountabilities
Typical accountabilities of BIM Coordinator as per international rules and best practices in the rail context
In detail:
- production and control of federated models.
- Model setup ensuring the discipline models are suitable for inclusion into the federated models.
- Setup and maintain coordinate systems for import and export.
- Implement the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Procedures.
- Combine or link shared models.
- Data maintenance within models.
- Identify model coordination issues.
- Participate in coordination meetings.
- Verify model Level of Information.
- Coordinate with the project planning manager for creating a 4D simulation
- Coordinate with Project Management Team for 5D simulation
- Coordinate with Operation and Maintenance team for 6D asset management implementation
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Project BIM Manager.
- Ensure there are no risks not assessed with respect to the safety of the works designed and compared to budgeted costs;
- Ensure the verification of the interfaces alignment and that each step is managed and properly addressed;
- Ensure the identification of critical issues in the development of the project and propose mitigation actions;
- The use of BIM for interfaces definition and management, as part of the project delivery strategy according to the Engineering Management Plan.
Required Skills/ Knowledge
8-10 year operative overall competence and experience
in railway engineering context and
BIM management/coordination/specialist in accordance with
ISO 19650 especially developed in the area of Civil works and railway Systems Design/Commissioning and Requirement/Interface management. Additional expertise in the railways contexts is considered as a plus.
Knowledge Expected:
Basic competences
- Civil Works in railway context (buildings, viaducts, tunnels, etc.): design, installation, operation and maintenance
- Railway Trackworks systems: design, installation, operation and maintenance
- Basic about the
Railway Systems:
signaling, traction power (catenary included), telecommunication, MEPS, depot equipment, Rolling Stocks.
- Sub-Contractors selection;
- Purchase Technical Specification (PTS) preparation according to contract needs;
- Technical support for contract matters;
- Requirements and Interfaces definition/consolidation and management;
- Familiar with Requirement Traceability Matrix and the Interface Registers tools, implemented in BIM (Building Information Modelling) context, using also a specific Common Data Environments (CDEs).
- Design management of contractors and subcontractor activities: contract requirements and design processescontrol;
- Full cycle basicexperience also in construction and test&commissioning phases.
Specific competences:
- Proven expertise of BIM Process implemented in accordance with the international rules and best practices.
