    What is the opportunity?

    With engineering mindset, working within the DNA team, to provide technical services and support for application testing, pre-production verification, and production support. You will partner with existing support team members, as well as numerous Lines of Business and will be a key player in providing technical support for file processing, data access, performance and process optimization. You will perform analysis required to provide timely resolution of technical issues, to maintain business partner Service Level Agreements. You will also provide direction, expertise, feedback, coaching and development to build the capability of more junior staff and continually enhance your skills and build knowledge in all aspects of the platforms and RBC organization.

    What will you do?

    • Respond to technical issues, flagged as failures. Perform application support, recovery as documented in the associated Runbook and drive issue resolution. Assist with technical investigations and impact analysis.
    • Propose and affect changes to improve current procedures and documentations and avoid recurring failures and scale for growth
    • Participate and facilitate walkthrough reviews of technical specifications, programs and unit test plans.
    • Provide related technical support for production processes, including required level of 7X24 on call support (On a rotational basis).
    • Prepare technical specifications for PTR, coordinate design phases for PTRs, identifying, tracking and resolving technical issues.
    • Improve and automate processes. Steadily improve performance, availability, and security through active analysis of production systems.

    What do you need to succeed?

    Must Have

    • B.S. degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or related technical field (e.g. EE, physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience.
    • Expert with Teradata, Mainframe, IBM DataStage and ETL tools
    • Expert in Unix scripting, Python and SQL
    • 3+ year experience with Mainframe applications and 3+ years previous work experience as a Technical Systems Analyst (ETL)
    • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to trouble shoot and provide guidance in resolving complex
    • Solid understand core Software Engineering concept

    Nice to Have

    • 2 + year hands-on experience with big data processing framework and Spark
    • 3+ years in the financial services industry would be an asset
    • Familiar with Agile/Scrum and experience with continuous integration development and working knowledge of Confluence, GIT would be an asset.
    • Professional coding experience in Python and mastery of scripting languages for automating systems management
