**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

To fulfill this role, the SQA Test Analyst Intern will:

- Estimate test coverage needs (First Pass, Regression)
- Execute manual & automated test scripts: Functional, Performance, Volume etc.
- Identify, analyze, and document defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in USCAN software program functions, outputs and content.
- Perform Code Walkthrough by verifying that products are developed according to functional specifications and may facilitate test plan review meetings with SW Developers
- Identify program variances from standards and suggest modifications.
- Prepare test environments
- Research found SW issues and problems related to quality
- Communicate project status to project team and management The work is primarily on-site (75%) in a very safe working environment.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required (though due to the nature of the internship, deeper knowledge of these areas may be obtained as part of the internship program):

- Knowledge of Windows Platform, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Schedule, Exchange)
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Knowledge of Retail (POS) systems is an asset
- Minimum 6 months programming experience (professional or academic).
- Previous testing experience in an automated environment is an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong problem research & comprehension skills Good analytical and problem resolution skills

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**

In progress Bachelors or Masters degree in Comp. Science, Computer Engineering or other relevant technical field, or equivalent combination of work experience and education

**FONCTIONS ET RESPONSABILITÉS**

Le stagiaire en assurance de la qualité logicielle assumera les principales fonctions suivantes qui seront exécutées sur les lieux (à 75 %) dans un environnement de travail très sécuritaire:

- Estimer la couverture des tests requise (« first pass », test de régression).
- Exécuter des tests manuels et automatisés : tests fonctionnels, tests de performance, tests avec données réelles, etc.
- Déceler, analyser et consigner les défauts, fonctions discutables, erreurs et incohérences affectant les fonctions, les sorties et le contenu du programme du logiciel USCAN.
- Passer le code en revue en s'assurant que les produits sont développés selon les spécifications fonctionnelles. Animer les revues de plan de test avec les développeurs de logiciels.
- Déceler les écarts des programmes par rapport aux normes et suggérer des modifications.
- Préparer les environnements de test.
- Déterminer les problèmes de qualité des logiciels.
- Présenter des rapports d'avancement des travaux à l'équipe et à la direction du projet.

**EXIGENCES DE L'EMPLOI**

- Connaissance de Windows Platform et de la suite Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Schedule, Exchange).
- Connaissance du Cycle de vie du développement d'un logiciel.
- Atout : connaissance des systèmes de point de vente des commerces de détail.
- Au minimum, six mois d'expérience en programmation (dans le cadre des études ou au travail).
- Atout : expérience des environnements de test automatisés.
- Excellent sens de l'organisation.
- Solide capacité à déterminer et comprendre les problèmes.
- Bonne capacité d'analyse et de résolution des problèmes.
