Job Summary

The VP, Commercial Business Canada position is the leader responsible for overseeing the commercial organization for NARCAN Nasal Spray and any other on-market commercial products in Canada.

The role is accountable for advancing commercial products across private and public channels in Canada.

Essential Functions
Accountable for building and executing brand commercial activities to deliver on sales revenue goals

Lead commercial planning and execution to ensure that sales, marketing, market access, trade & distribution, customer support teams, public affairs, medical affairs and other cross-functional partners all align and deliver on the business plans.

Responsible for achieving revenue targets while ensuring operating expenditures are tightly controlled without diminishing operational excellence and efficiencies.
Develop and execute market-specific launch plans for products in late-stage development and partner on Life Cycle Management strategies for on-market products
Build, foster and maintain a sustainable high-performing commercial team.
Work collaboratively with North American Commercial organization to identify synergies and leverage existing resources and repurpose for local execution

Recruit, coach and mentor leaders to help build the commercial leadership capabilities Emergent needs to operate the business today and for the future.

Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
Supervise the training and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs post marketing approval and launch.
Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.
Ensure Emergent is operating in strict compliance with all local laws and legislation
Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance commercial operations.
Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop five-year business plans for the company.
Establish and work cross functionally to implement short
- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.

Education, Experience & Skills

At minimum, an undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree preferably in the domains of science or business. MBA is a plus.
A minimum of 15 years experience in commercial roles in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Previous experience in biopharmaceutical sales, sales management and marketing roles
Strong knowledge of the Canadian healthcare industry required, a working understanding of the U.S. healthcare industry is a plus
Leadership & People Management; leads teamwork proactively across a variety of situations. Understands implicitly how to manage and work with different people and various working styles. Cultivates a climate in direct and adjacent areas/units of shared decision-making and shared risk/reward. Builds a culture that shares credit for success and failure and that rewards initiative.
Highly developed negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills
Analytical and forward thinker, results oriented, self-organized and self-starter
