Job Purpose & Responsibilities:

This is a
permanent, full-time position of Waste Management Labourer with the Department of Infrastructure Services.

Reporting to the Waste Management Foreman, this position is responsible for:

Providing customer service by creating a positive and energetic atmosphere, greeting customers and directing them to designated areas, and addressing customer questions.
Performing general maintenance and housekeeping duties, while assisting with the loading, unloading, and stockpiling of waste materials.
Sorting recyclable materials from various waste streams and pushing and loading materials into recovery equipment.
Using tools such as shovels, rakes, and various small hand and electric tools, and may be responsible for washing/pressure washing City vehicles and equipment.
