QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited Laboratory Assistant Program.
Certification as Medical Laboratory Assistant with the Medical Laboratory Professionals' Association of Ontario (Formerly Ontario Society of Medical Technologists) or the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science.
Recent related clinical experience as a medical laboratory assistant in a clinical laboratory environment.
Demonstrated advanced skills in phlebotomy techniques for patients/clients of all ages.
Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and interdisciplinary practice.
Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service.
Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving.
Working knowledge of computers, Laboratory Information Systems and other related Hospital systems.
Consistent and regular attendance required.
Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset.
Vaccines (COVID19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
