What type of a job are we offering?

Thermo Fisher Scientific Phenom Field Service Representative will:

  • Perform onsite installation, e, and repairs of desktop scanning electron microscopes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with SFR's customers.

  • A University or technical degree/diploma or equivalent experience in high vacuum electronic system troubleshooting.

  • Able to read and interpret schematics.
  • Familiar with ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) phenomenon and technology.

JOB DESCRIPTION


The primary responsibility of the Phenom Field Service Representative position is to perform the remote and onsite installation, servicing, and repair of Thermo Fisher Phenom products throughout Canada (your "
Territory").

Your goal is to drive service success to improve customer satisfaction and maximize customer retention.

As a Phenom Field Service Representative, you are responsible for:

  • Investigating and approving operational quality of system equipment during field visits or dispatches. Without limitation, this includes instructing customers in the operation and maintenance of the Thermo Fisher Phenom systems and third-party peripherals as well as diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions.
  • Serving as a SFR liaison with its customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. This responsibility includes but is not limited to representing SFR and its suppliers throughout customer and supplier visits. By way of example, you are expected to conduct yourself during all such interactions in accordance with SFR's policies, procedures, protocols, and standards (e.g., have a positive attitude and appearance, comply with all applicable laws and be knowledgeable about all electrical, mechanical, and chemical health and safety issues and how to appropriately always address the same).
  • Managing onsite installations of the full range of Phenom systems and their associated options. Such installations include conducting installations and standards testing to ensure specifications are met.
  • Providing troubleshooting, maintenance/service, repair and testing support for customers and other field service p This includes actively listening and comprehending customer requirements.
  • Cultivating and developing positive working relationships with customers, system users and company personnel.
  • Travelling, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel.
  • Occasionally travelling to provide coverage for Field Service Representative shortages across Canada (e.g., due to vacation or illness)
  • Completing and submitting timely and sufficiently detailed field service reports in accordance with SFR policies, practices, protocols and/or standards.
  • Providing training for customers and users on system maintenance.
  • Documenting processes.
  • Operating and rental vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Providing feedback to product quality team.
  • Providing appropriate input to update and correctarious Thermo Fisher/SFR system documentation.
  • Providing input for various reports including identifying and isolating unique problems with
