You are
A_n Employment Facilitator_.

You are responsible for providing on-site support to participants and/or employers under the direction of an Employment Development Specialist (EDS).

This may include job coaching to develop specific job skills and/or work environment skills.

Support may also include linking participants to and/or providing information on external service providers to address personal issues impacting on work performance.


Your Role

  • Provides communitybased job training/support to select participants, which includes systematically training participants to perform job duties to ensure quality and timely completion of the work.
  • To provide onsite support to participants and/or employers, under the direction of an EDS, for the purpose of ensuring a successful employment outcome and to coordinate the participants transition to an independent work environment through natural supports at the work site.
  • To provide onsite support to participants and employers that may include nonemployment challenges impacting on a participant's work performance.
  • Complies with privacy and confidentiality as outlined in agency, provincial and federal policies and/or guidelines.
  • Provides documentation re: participants, including detailed contact notes outlining date of contact, onsite activity and participant's progress.
  • Provides assistance in other (EPC) program areas, e.g. Assessment Services, Employment Workshops, etc., as requested by the Program Manager.
  • Provides statistical and program information as requested.
  • Attends and participates in program meetings.
  • Participates in regular supervision/consultation with the Program Manager.

What You Know

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline.
  • Ability to support and provide training to participants with disabilities in any employment situation.
  • Ability to represent Manitoba Possible/EPC in a business like and professional manner.
  • High degree of tact and diplomacy is required
  • Knowledge of disabilities and associated functional limitations, is an asset
  • Creative problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook and Word.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required.
  • Knowledge of ASL is an asset.
