The Role:


As the Environmental Pursuit Lead, you will be entrusted with a pivotal role in expanding our organization's footprint in the environmental sector by identifying, prepositioning, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities.

Drawing upon your extensive knowledge of environmental science, regulations, market and technology trends, you will drive strategic initiatives to capture market share, cultivate client relationships, and deliver innovative solutions to address environmental challenges.

This role requires exceptional communication skills, relationship-building abilities, and a keen understanding of the Ontario Environmental Sciences Services Market with an emphasis on the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area.


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil / Environmental Sciences or a related field, advanced degree preferred.
  • 15 years of experience in business development or sales within the environmental sector.
  • Proven track record of success in identifying and securing new business opportunities, driving net revenue growth, profitability, and building strong client relationships within the environmental sector.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities, with the ability to conduct thorough market analysis and identify strategic opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced, dynamic environment.
  • Working knowledge of the following would be an asset: Excess Soil Regulation, Brownfield Regulation, water quality and water sampling regulations, climate change adaptability, greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy, and resilient infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:


  • In alignment with the Business Line Lead, Lead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities within the environmental sector, utilizing effective communication and relationshipbuilding skills to win work and drive revenue growth with attention to profitability.
  • Assist in the documentation and tracking of key pursuits using internal tools including opportunity pipeline and CRM.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of proposals, RFQs, and RFPs for environmental projects, collaborating with internal teams to develop compelling solutions and value propositions.
  • Engage with environmental clients to understand their needs, challenges, and project requirements, and tailor our offerings to address their specific objectives and priorities
  • Industry Connections: Develop and maintain a strong network within the environmental sector to enhance business relationships and stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and client needs.
