Job Title:
Community Action Team (CAT) Peer Advocate

Location:
Ksan Counselling and Support Centre, 4838 Lazelle Ave

Stopping the Violence

Adult, Youth and /or Child Worker, Grid 11, JJEP

Rate of Pay:
$23.10-$26.91

Working closely with the CAT Coordinator, the CAT Peer Advocate will develop partnerships with people and families with

lived experience of substance use, provide focused, trauma-informed, action-oriented strategies tailored specifically to

Terrace community needs.

Qualifications:
Diploma in a related Human / Social service field and one (1) year recent related experience. OR

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Clear Criminal Record. Naloxone trained, Current First

Aid certificate. Valid BCDL.

Experience/Skills:

Knowledge of diverse Indigenous communities' social, historical, jurisdictional, and cultural context, and Indigenous

views on approaches to health and wellness.

Knowledge of harm reduction principles and practices.
Knowledge of peerdriven initiatives and interventions.
Ability to manage time effectively based on workload.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with people and communities at large.
Good organizational, time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal behavior and communication skills.
Works effectively within a team setting, flexible and works well under pressure.

Hours of Work: 20 hours biweekly
