Who We Are.
The British Columbia Institute of Technology Student Association (BCITSA) is a non-profit student services and advocacy organization at BCIT with a mandate to enhance student life.
This includes the Food Operations that are located on BCIT's Burnaby Campus _. _For over 50 years, the BCITSA's food operations has been the natural habitat of the BCIT students to come enjoy our food and congregate offering aid- back atmosphere, modern décor, and fresh, locally sourced meals.
The Position.
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking quality food items efficiently for daily food operations. You work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment to contribute to overall customer service and satisfaction.
More specifically, your key duties and responsibilities will be the following:
- Slice vegetables, meats and bread products, and portion them appropriately
- Prepare proteins including fish, chicken and beef
- Precook necessary ingredients as well as preassemble dishes and ingredients
- Restock line items and prepped food as needed
- Communicate with team to ensure presentation is coordinated
- Set up and take down the line
- Clean all work areas, equipment, and dishes
Other related duties are the following:
- Understand and follow all policies and procedures
- Support Student Executives and staff members for their respective initiatives
- Assist in training employees
- Assist other staff with duties, especially when busy

In addition, you must have:
- One to two years of experience in a similar position
- FoodSafe Level
- Ability to work under pressure
