- This is a Fulltime, Salaried position.
Are you a detail-oriented professional with experience in procurement and inventory management? Do you thrive in a manufacturing environment and enjoy optimizing operational efficiency? Do you possess a keen eye for analyzing trends and making data-driven recommendations? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Procurement Specialist.
As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for the procurement and replenishment of materials and components in accordance with MRP and commodity strategies to support production requirements.
You will play a vital role in optimizing inventory levels and analyzing trends to make recommendations for maximizing operational efficiency.
What you will do in the role:
- College degree or equivalent
- 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- 4 years of ERP and MRP systems experience preferred
- MRO and Subcontracting purchasing experience preferred
- APICS/ASCM certification or equivalent an asset
What you will bring to the role:
- Execute all aspects of MRP actions, such as placing new orders, and expediting and maintaining the system with accurate data.
- Accurately maintain system planning parameters.
- Resolve discrepancies in invoicing, receiving, and inventory.
- Analyze and forecast material usage to suggest ways to improve efficiency.
- Identify inventory items with undesirable movement and develop strategies to address them.
- Return nonconforming materials to suppliers and obtain replacements in a timely manner.
- Plan material changes with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply and avoid inventory obsolescence.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and manage suppliers as necessary.
- Provide reports to the Supplier Performance Program.
- Research, search for, and present supplier options for new and existing products/materials.
- Regularly evaluate pricing to determine opportunities for cost savings and ensure competitive pricing.
- Negotiate and appropriately facilitate mitigation of input cost increases.
- Understanding of integrated supply chain and logístical concepts.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Detailoriented, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
- Follow and maintain ISO guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Able to lift up to 15lbs; may work in hot areas 5%, noise 0%.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety as well as active participation in 5S activities in work area.
- A clear background check for criminal and/or credit is required
