Affordable Property Management is seeking an
Administrative Assistant for a temporary contract from April 1 to May 7, 2024, to work on-site at a Non-Profit Housing Corporation in Brampton (Hurontario and Hwy 407).


Position Description:

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing vacation coverage for a temporary contract from April 1 to May 7, 2024, and for performing overall coordination and administration of the on-site office.


Responsibilities:


  • All administration relating to the Corporation including filing, reception, typing or correspondence and general office work including ordering of supplies.
  • Handle tenant requests and complaints and consider resolution or action required for resolution.
  • Process rental payments from tenants by entering information into the rent roll, processing cheques through the cheque scanner, and verifying etransfers and preauthorized payments.
  • Code and forward invoices to the Accounting Department for payment.
  • Assist with supervision of onsite staff (superintendent, cleaner and contract staff), coordinate schedules, and submit payroll information.
  • Assist with managing building maintenance with Superintendent, coordinate tender process, review work orders, maintain inventory, prepare purchase orders, ensure delivery of supplies and equipment is as ordered, correspond with trades and suppliers, and maintain and inspect emergency life safety systems.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Must have experience working in office administration or secretarial support.
  • Must have advanced computer knowledge in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Must be a selfstarter who is able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working in property management is an asset, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

Compensation:


This position is a temporary contract from April 1 to May 7, 2024, at an hourly rate of $20.50 to $21.50.
