    *Senior Underwriter (Personal Lines)

This is the job for you We are currently looking for one Underwriter (Personal Lines) for one of our clients in the insurance industry.

    *What is in it for you:
    • Annual salary of $66,000 to $70,000.
    • Annual bonus aiming to reach 7% depending on the performance of the employee and the company.

    • Hybrid position with 2 days in the Chabanel office.
    • Schedule Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    *Responsibilities:
    • Accept or refuse risks, exceeding the levels of authority granted to brokers.
    • Make requested changes, renew or terminate the most complex automobile and home insurance contracts, depending on the level of authority granted.
    • Review certain files upon renewal and ensure that they still meet the standards, inform the broker of our conditions of acceptance or the reasons motivating a refusal of non-renewal.
    • Provide support and technical advice to brokers in terms of risk selection criteria, IT systems.
    • Evaluate and respond to requests for accommodation of risks, products and prices.
    • Answer calls, chats and emails apply rules and guidelines in a broker service center environment
    • Respond to the needs of our brokers in a timely and informed manner to provide best-in-class underwriting service.
    • Contact brokers to carry out follow-ups relating to the underwriting of the risk.
    • Review existing client files to ensure that all steps have been taken to improve the profitability and long-term success of our existing portfolio.
    • Analyze relevant reports (such as inspections, motor vehicles, claims) to assess risk and claims exposure.
    • Continuously update your technical skills through online courses or any relevant training.
    • Participate in the implementation of certain projects.
    • Work collaboratively with team members.
    • Offer suggestions and recommendations to your supervisor, following feedback from brokers, in order to improve the service we offer.
    *What you will need to succeed: * 5+ years of experience in personal insurance.

    • Strong negotiation skills and demonstrate leadership abilities.
    • Very good knowledge of computer systems (Microsoft Office suite).
    • Good judgment and good analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Autonomy and initiative.
    • Bilingualism: Knowledge of English in addition to French is required since this position requires communicating, orally and in writing, with our customers, our partners and other teams located across Canada.
    • Open attitude towards change and ability to work in a team.
    • Have good time management and planning of your tasks.
    • Able to work under pressure and within a tight deadline.
    • Good interpersonal skills and motivated to provide exceptional and personalized service to our brokers.
