    We are currently looking to add a new Big Rocker to our Brewhouse team. If you go hoppy over craft beverages and want to join an amazing team you can grow with long term- we want to hear from you The Brewhouse Cellarman will ensure that Safety and Quality are at the forefront of all activities and is responsible for important brewing tasks including yeast management, dry hopping, and other activities related to brewing operations. The cellarman assists with tanks and general cleaning as well as maintaining the order in the fermentation cellar and different brewing areas. In short, this person will help us maintain a clean, sanitary workspace for making high quality beverages. Under moderate supervision, the cellarman performs basic, routine beer and brewery operations tasks including but not limited to: CIP of brewing equipment, receiving of raw materials, wort handling (cooling and aeration), yeast management (yeast dumps, yeast pitching), additions (dry hopping, dilutions) and basic maintenance of brewing equipment. The successful candidate will be competent with basic troubleshooting techniques in order to react with a sense of urgency to any unforeseen process events. The Brewhouse Cellarman will ensure that Safety and Quality are at the forefront of all activities.     RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out cellaring tasks including beer transfers and carbonation.
  • CIP (Clean-In-Place) of Fermenters, aging tanks, yeast propagators and other brewing equipment as required.
  • Complete fermentation checks, including gravity, temperature and pH measurements on fermenting beer.
  • Perform tank transfers and centrifuging of beer.
  • Monitor and handle wort cooling and wort aeration for brews.
  • Water management of different water tanks (Deaerated water, RO water, waste water, HLT, etc.)
  • General cleaning & organization – warehouse, walk-in cooler, dry storage areas
  • Assist brewers as needed.
  • Dry hopping and additions (fruit, flavours), to beer.
  • Yeast management (harvesting, propagation, pitching and yeast dumps).
  • Perform beer dilution for high gravity brewing.
  • Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills that support the corporate culture
  • Must be proficient with the English language
  • Ability to listen and provide feedback in a productive manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Punctual and excellent work attendance
  • Knowledge or experience in brewing operations would be an asset but not necessarily required.
  • Hands on, mechanically inclined, interested in learning about brewing and brewing operations.
  • Sitting, standing, and bending is required.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 kg's.
  • Frequent exposure to various temperatures
  • Possible exposure to dangerous/hazardous materials
  • Required to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends and potentially statutory holidays (time worked will be compensated according to employment standards).
  • Safety equipment required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
