    HR Business Advisor

    Job Summary

    Collaborates with local leadership to provide HR support and delivery of HR Advisory services to leaders in Canada. Ensures execution and delivery of global HR programs within Canada.

    Responsibilities

    HR Programs

    • Support annual cyclical activities – annual performance program and work with leaders to interpret engagement results and create actions plans; partnering with Experience Delivery, HR People Solutions, and HR Strategy
    • HR Program Delivery & Adoption: Partner with business leaders, Experience Delivery, HR People Solutions, and HR Strategy and HRBP to execute local implementation of HR products and solutions (includes change management)
    • Provides guidance for managers on HR process and programs, and interprets local requirements
    • Collaborate with the business and serve as key lead on reporting, analysis and insights as key

    Employee Relations

    • Partner with key business leaders and HR Business Partners in support of functional priorities
    • Lead and facilitate resolution of employee relations issues to assist employees and managers in creating a productive, engaging work environment. Support upskilling of managers in handling employee related matters. Where required, lead and complete investigations into employee concerns.
    • Assess employee performance challenges or development needs, recommend solutions, and coach managers on team effectiveness, workforce planning, and leadership development.
    • Collaborate with local leaders to guide decisions and implement organizational changes; leads employee level execution for transformation projects and organizational changes

    HR Policy & Process

    • Compliance and Policies: Develop HR policies ensuring compliance with relevant legislative employment requirements. Assist the business in understanding and navigating employment legal requirements in market
    • Supports adapting global policies and processes for Canada in partnership with Employment Legal and HR Services

    Internal HR Partnerships

    • Builds and leverages relationships with other teams (such as Rewards, HR Services, Org & Talent, Payroll, and Employment Legal)
    • Partners with Experience Delivery/HR Services to continue to build HR infrastructure in Canada to support growth
    • Partner cross-functionally on HR process improvement, including interpretation of local requirements

    Labour Relations

    • Provides advice and information to HR Operations leadership on the interpretation and application of the collective agreement and on workplace legislation and policies; including support of the grievance administration and other employee issues
    • Supports grievance investigations and audits grievance activity to identify underlying issues

    Other

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 5 years experience in HR management and Labour Relations
    • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations, Organization Development, Human Resources or a related field preferred
    • Extensive knowledge of Canada workplace legislation and regulatory requirements
    • Multifaceted HR background required– demonstrable experience leading complex situations, creative problem-solving and strong influencing skills in a matrixed environment. Must have outstanding judgement and discretion
    • Previous experience in employee relations
    • Excellent communication skills with effective interpersonal and dispute resolution abilities
    • Track record of successfully mentoring and guiding leaders
    • Excellent problem solving skills
    • Intermediate digital literacy in MS Office Package, with advanced digital literacy in Excel and PowerPoint
    • Labour Relations experience preferred
    • Knowledge of grievance and arbitration processes preferred
    • Knowledge and experience supporting U.S. operations preferred
    • French language capability preferred but not required
    • Knowledge of Workday preferred
