- Support the functional development and coaching/mentoring of a team of Project Engineers in engineering development (primarily FEL 2, FEL 3, and Detailed Engineering phases)
- Manage relationships with internal clients (Project and Program Managers) and third-party engineering service providers
- Support continuous improvement of third-party engineering management and engagement
- Support development of and execute against defined engineering resourcing strategies
- Hold internal and or third-party engineering resources accountable to engineering deliverable schedule, effort hour/cost, and quality commitments. Escalate and develop mitigation plans as appropriate
- Ownership of the third-party engineering sourcing process
- Liaise with engineering disciplines, third-party engineering companies, project managers, and business unit operations / technical stakeholders for timely investigation, resolution, and alignment on technical issues and design decisions
- Work with Engineering Services team members to ensure all engineering work is compliant with specifications and applicable codes and standards
- Knowledge of complex oil and gas design engineering concepts, practices, and procedures
- Pragmatic analytical skills; proactive in identifying risks and solving problems
- Excellent leadership, relationship, and interpersonal skills
- Coaching and mentoring of junior peers on effective project engineering practices
- Able to articulate technical concepts and other project information in a clear, concise way
- This position will require you to be in the field periodically so you must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, and climb heights, while wearing all required PPE
- University degree in engineering, with a minimum of 15 years of engineering experience on capital projects in the oil and gas, power, or heavy industry sectors
- P.Eng. designation, or immediate eligibility, is a requirement
