Job Summary:


The Digital Navigator coordinates opportunities that support newcomers to access online and remote settlement services with greater confidence and effectiveness.

The Digital Navigator mentors through facilitating workshops and drop-in sessions that focuses on digital literacy topics and tools.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Facilitates workshops and dropin sessions on increasing digital literacy and familiarity with accessing remote services
  • Provides onetoone digital coaching to clients
  • Facilitates online client registration and accesses for settlement workshops
  • Liaises with Community Connections Coordinators
  • Coordinates the work of multilingual online volunteer navigator mentors
  • Assists creating online volunteer navigator mentorship management processes including: orientation, training and multilingual materials to support client digital literacy, and maintaining online privacy and confidentiality
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Regional Manager

Education, Training and Experience:


  • Bachelor of Education, Social Sciences or other relevant diploma or certification in a related field of study
  • Experience and/or relevant training on teaching others how to use computers and the internet
  • Experience working with immigrants, liveincaregivers and/or refugees
  • Experience with multicultural clientele and immigrantrelated services
  • Experience facilitating online webinars and inperson workshops
  • Experience delivering onetoone support services
  • Experience coordinating volunteers
  • Knowledge of settlement information and resources is an asset

  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to use additional languages are an asset
  • Ability to be taskoriented, work independently and in a cooperative team environment
  • Ability to work with individuals and communities facing cultural adjustment challenges and multiple barriers
  • Ability to design, promote, deliver and facilitate digital literacy webinars/ workshops
