Position Overview


The Business Development Manager role is responsible for managing and executing CJ's business development process which focuses on designing, integrating, managing and adapting supply chain solutions that are based on customer needs.

They will manage and motivate internal cross-functional teams to deliver proposals to customers that deliver value and help them achieve their goals.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop new business for the company through approaching new business customers
  • Develop a sales lead and maintain CRM to ensure that future new business development for W&D, FF, and EPC are planned in advance
  • Generate and distribute specific reports as required(e.g. weekly/monthly sales report, competitor & market analysis) in alignment with the position to CJL America and HQ
  • Develop logistics service proposals including proposal, operation strategies, financial forecast, cost module projections, and P&L and give a presentation if required
  • Maintain close working relationships with the operations teams (Warehouse, Transportation, Freight Forwarding)
  • Conduct market research to look for potential business opportunities
  • Manage and coordinate all commercial activities in line with the company's short and longterm results and targets
  • Participate in internal and external meetings associated with business development in Canada
  • Support warehouse operation setup for new and existing customers during the transition period

QUALIFICATIONS & RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:


  • Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent business acumen
  • Experience in proposal writing and presentations
  • Project Management, and resource management skills
  • A minimum of 4 year of experience in a client facing role or account management role
  • Experience with managing and participating in new business efforts, especially in conferences and events, bid searches, proposal response and submission.
  • Experience with proposal writing and RFP responses
  • Willing to travel to US and Canada
