    The Opportunity

    The South Bow - Liquids System Control group is looking to add a Control Center Operator to the Liquids Control Center team, based in Calgary, AB. The 4,900-kilometre (3,000-mile) liquids pipeline system connects growing continental oil supplies to key markets and refineries. The Keystone Pipeline System delivers approximately 20 per cent of western Canadian exports to key refinery markets in the U.S. Midwest and Gulf Coast, where it is converted into fuel and other useful petroleum products.

    Reporting to the Manager, Liquids Control Centre, this position supports the monitoring and controlling of various facilities through the use of a state-of-the-art Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective transportation on behalf of our customers.

    What You'll Do

  • Carry out and execute safe operations aligned with TC Energy operating procedures (TOPS)
  • Handle and implement customer requests/changes consistent with facility capabilities, connecting pipeline limitations and quality principles
  • Analyze planned and unplanned shut-ins or interruptions and restore the system to normal conditions
  • Coordinate complex and diverse issue resolution involving unexpected refinery shut-ins or operational interruptions
  • Understand Oil Pipelines' capabilities and coordinate responses with connecting parties upstream and downstream
  • Comply with corporate policies and contractual obligations while maintaining profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Focus on operational effectiveness and continuous improvement
  • Utilize technology to support issue investigation and resolution for other business unit departments
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years of related experience
  • Proven experience with and understanding of SCADA systems
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Control Room Operational experience – including controlling hydraulics, monitoring data and responding to operational alarms
  • Post-Secondary education (specialized electrical certification courses and/or technical diploma
  • Fundamental knowledge of liquids pipeline hydraulics and/or operational experience with oil, refined products or hot bitumen
  • Work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Successfully complete pre-employment medical screening including drug and alcohol testing
