Position Description


The Public Affairs and Communications team at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a full-time, permanent Communications Coordinator to support with internal and external communications.

Reporting to a Manager, Public Affairs & Communications, and working closely with the rest of the communications team and teams across the hospital, you will develop, implement and evaluate communications strategies.

You will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating high-quality communications and media content for a variety of print and electronic platforms including , the internal portal, and all common social media platforms.

Writing will be a key activity in this role as will building and maintain relationships across the hospital to support hospital communications priorities.


Demonstrated ability to write quality content in a timely manner and translate complex concepts into accessible formats is a required skill.

The capacity to think strategically and creatively is critical, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Experience with media relations, social media strategy and content management, photo and video editing and/or event planning would be an asset.

This is a hybrid position which will be onsite at least twice a week in the Bell Gateway Building at 100 Stokes St.


Qualifications


Post-secondary education in communications, journalism, public relations or other related areas combined with 3-5 years professional experience in corporate communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Superior communication skills, impeccable writing and well developed story-telling skills, are required.

Sound judgement, discretion, professionalism, tact, diplomacy and the ability to work effectively as a team member as well as independently in a demanding, deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment are all requirements.


Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Please Note:
This full-time, permanent position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.


Salary Range:
$ $45.31 per hour
