The Role


As a result of our robust growth throughout North America we are seeking a Vice President of Distribution to join our team in Saint John, NB.

This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing.


Responsibilities

  • Drives long term planning to ensure that staff, facility, equipment and infrastructure growth are clearly defined in a roadmap. This includes establishing and maintaining a globally aligned distribution network
  • Drives continuous improvement, including deploying automation wherever practical and feasible, to ensure the continued effectiveness and efficiency of all Distribution operations.
  • Ensures that an effective leadership structure is in place, including Senior Managers, Managers, and Supervisors.
  • Creating the conceptual and detail layout of distribution facilities to ensure business needs can be met, and collaborate with department heads and other stakeholders to gather and incorporate input
  • Directly manages Senior Distribution leaders. Lead, manage, coach, develop and evaluate direct reports through regular oneonone and team meetings; conduct and document performance reviews
  • Ensures that appropriate and effective communication channels are open with critical internal customers, including but not limited to, Sales and Customer Service, Business Operations, Procurement, Distribution Planning, Quality Assurance and Quality Control
  • Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the transportation & distribution personnel and operations;
  • Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth;
  • Oversee inventory levels and accuracy;
  • Develop and manage distribution budget and manage inventory levels by forecasting demand
  • Monitor costs and budgets
  • Train new team members, team workloads, schedules and deadlines
  • Provide analytics to the Senior VP

Qualifications

  • 10 plus years of applicable Distribution experience.
  • 510 years experience managing a team
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Economics, or a related field
  • Knowledge of finance, budgeting, expense management
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to garner consensus from team is important
  • Strong negotiation skills
