Purpose:


Reporting to Director, Global Engagement and Partnerships, the incumbent will support York University's efforts to expand global engagement programs and initiatives working collaboratively with York Faculties, course/program leaders and relevant administrative units and staff.

The International Programs Coordinator will coordinate the development, conceptualization and delivery of innovative and custom designed international mobility programs including but not limited to faculty-led summer and reading week programs, research placements, study trips and field visits, seminars, workshops, virtual and hybrid programming, etc.).

Working collaboratively with faculties, and York community partners including administrative and support units, the incumbent will coordinate York University's engagement with international partners including the University's participation in programs and initiatives offered through memberships in international education associations and consortiums with the aim of expanding global/international opportunities for York students, faculty members and staff.


Education:


Bachelor's Degree in international education, international relations and development or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks.

This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.


Experience:


Three (3) years recent and relevant experience in international partnership facilitation and program management in a university environment, developing and/or delivering student programs, support, and services.

Experience needs to include development and/or delivery international education programs and projects and building processes to support implementation, navigating University structures, policies and procedures for strategic purposes and implementation of international projects and initiatives, working, and supporting students from diverse backgrounds and collaborating with faculties and academics.

Experience in event planning, report writing, student facing communications and public speaking is also required. International Experience as study abroad, lived abroad or worked abroad is an asset.


Skills:

Knowledge of education and academic systems outside of Canada (North America/International).
Knowledgeable of data collection and management that will support strategic planning and continuous improvement.
Highly developed research and analytical skills to monitor international education trends and identify opportunities for York University.
Exceptional intercultural communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work individually and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team, and across campus and beyond with diverse (internal and external) stakeholders.

Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent programming and student support working alongside relevant stakeholders.
Outstanding interpersonal communication and presentation skills, including written, oral and in individual and group settings.
Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and projects and pay attention to details.
Strong interpersonal, cross-cultural skills.
Ability to use diplomacy and tact appropriately.
Proven ability to take initiative and be both creative and flexible, demonstrate an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit.
Strong critical thinking, judgement and decision-making skills and problem-solving skills, ability to thrive in flexible and challenging environments.
High level of customer service skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
