Job Profile:
There is an opening for Building Operations Assistant within the Facilities Division, Corporate Enterprise Department.
Reporting to the Supervisor of Building Systems, duties include:
What you will be doing:
- Conducts routine inspections on pool equipment and chemical systems, complete logbook documents throughout the course of the day
- Performs daytoday repairs and maintenance required in buildings, including responding to work orders
- Performs program setup, teardown
- Completes weekly/monthly inspections in building maintenance and regulatory fire and life safety testing
- Performs outdoor pool opening/closing duties
- Performing grounds keeping and building maintenance duties
Required Experience and Knowledge:
Two to three years of previous work-related experience relating to:
- Knowledge and skills for pool chemistry obtained through hands-on experience and education
- Experience building operations and maintenance
- Experience in building maintenance and understanding building components throughout the various buildings of the portfolio
- Teamwork, to promote the smooth running and success of facilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations.
- Personable allowing for excellent customer service
Required Education and Certificates:
- Grade 12 OSS Diploma or equivalent
- Pools Operators Certificate Required
- Valid G Drivers Licence Required.

Proof of your current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications.
Valid G driver's license.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate from the Ministry of Labour. (may be obtained post offer)
Your compensation:
This position is within Grade 6 of the inside workers union Salary Schedule and has an annual salary range of $61,359 to $65,214.
Hours of work:
This position work 35 hours per week, with rotating shifts, including days, afternoons and weekends in accordance with the collective agreement.
