Summary of responsibilities:


The Manager, Procurement and Contracting is responsible for managing the development and delivery of procurement and contracting services for all materials and services necessary to support the organisation in meeting its operational objectives.

The Manager, Procurement and Contracting performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.


What you need to succeed

To qualify for the position, you must have:

  • A minimum of 6 years experience in contracting and procurement;
  • A minimum of 5 years experience leading teams or an acceptable combination of experience in leading teams and/or mentoring, coaching and providing guidance within a team setting;
  • Indepth knowledge and experience in the full life cycle of procurement/contracting for goods and services; analyzing requirements, determining procurement method, preparing documents, request for proposals, evaluations and contracts;
  • Experience providing advice and assistance to clients and providing interpretation of policies and procedures;
  • Experience presenting recommendations to senior management;
  • Experience developing and refining structures, policies, procedures;
  • Knowledge of current contract law and case law relevant to contracting;
  • Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies;
  • College or university degree with specialization in Commerce, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or other specialty relevant to the position;
  • Working towards or completed the SCMP certification through the Purchasing Management Association of Canada, or other certification relevant to procurement.
