Job Scope

Reporting to the Head of Preparatory Studies the Coding Instructor is responsible for delivering curriculum effectively, mentoring students on projects and providing feedback to students in the Foundation Visual Art & Design Program.

The instructor will introduce students to the Unity by teaching the Unity Editor through progressive lessons leading to the completion of a project.

Topics include simple physics, creating objects dynamically, designing interfaces, adding a health system, setting up sound effects, and debugging.

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver resultsfocused instruction to students.
  • Takes attendance. Assigns, monitors and grades activities, homework, and exams.
  • Punctual and conscientious management of classes.
  • Maintains classroom order and supports students; providing individual guidance and referring students to Program Administration when appropriate.
  • Collaboration with Head of Preparatory Studies on planning and updating curriculum and progression of course when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Job Qualifications

  • Postsecondary certificate, diploma, degree plus minimum 3 years of industry experience or minimum 10 years of industry experience.
  • Expert knowledge in scripting and game development and design using Unity.
  • Portfolio demonstrating a high caliber of professional work.
  • Ability to recognize individual learning styles and the characteristics of learners.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Moodle.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving skills and resourcefulness.
