Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the cook on duty with the preparation and handling of food
  • Prepare other food items such as desserts, salads, snacks and beverages as instructed by the cook
  • Assist with meal service, serving meals and beverages to the residents
  • Clear and clean dining rooms after meal services
  • Wash dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, pots, pans used in food preparation
  • Assist cook to ensure resident's dietary requirements regarding; special diets and specific textures and preferences are met.
  • Assist in the restocking and ordering of food inventory
  • Monitor food temperatures
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • Maintain kitchen equipment
  • Report any maintenance issues with regard to kitchen, equipment and/or dining room furniture

Additional Duties

  • Handle resident complaints within scope of the role
  • Participate in the home's mandatory training program, quality improvement initiatives and any staff development

Job Requirements

  • Current Police Clearance
  • Vulnerable Screening
  • Current TB Screening
  • Must provide proof of full vaccination for COVID
  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Should be able to lift cooking equipment, dishes and food inventory. Should also be able to tolerate standing for long periods at a time.

Job Type:
Part-time


Schedule:

  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift

COVID-19 considerations:

  • All Team Members are prescreened prior to start of all shifts
  • All Team Members regularly perfrom Rapid Antigen Tests as part of the screening
process

  • All Team Members must wear a surgical mask at all times when working

Experience:

- dietary aide: 1 year (preferred)
