Overview:

Element has an opportunity for a

Microbiologist in a Food and Environment lab in Calgary whose primary responsibility is to support laboratory operations by conducting the relevant microbiological testing.


Responsibilities:


  • Maintain accurate records with a strict adherence to the corporate Quality System
  • Role includes working on weekends and some paid overtime as required
  • Shifts vary with working hours between 8 AM and 7 PM including weekends

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Minimum post secondary education in a microbiology related field
  • Microbiological techniques such as: direct plating, serial dilutions, qualitative pathogen detection, PCR, ELISA, biochemical bacterial identifications, membrane filtration, MPN and much more
  • Experience with Allergen quantification
  • Excellent aseptic technique
  • Effective time management
  • Good English communication skills
