We are currently looking to hire a:

Chiropodist - Community Health Team
2-Part Time (17.5 hrs/wk)


Reporting To:
Manager, Community Health Team


Purpose:


The Scarborough interprofessional primary care access model is a partnership to enhance care for the vulnerable, complex clients living in the Scarborough North and South Sub-regions.

The priority population includes over 900 people currently on the Health Care Connect list, as well as non-insured and clients who require access to interprofessional teams.

Key areas of responsibility:

Working with our community-based primary care practitioners, our dynamic, collaborative and mobile inter
- professional team will include Nurse Practitioners, Psychologist, RNs, RPNs, OTs, PTs, Social Workers,
Dieticians, Navigator, Chiropodist, Foot Care Nurse, Case Worker, Mental Health and Harm Reduction
Workers. This position introduces chiropody service to our team.


The Chiropodist will provide specialized foot care for individuals and families living in the Scarborough community who are marginalized or deemed to be at risk in some way.


Educational and/or Professional Qualifications:


  • Undergraduate degree from a recognized University
  • Diploma from a recognized school of chiropody
  • Registration and in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
  • Minimum 5 years chiropody experience within a community health, hospital, or independent setting
  • Experience caring for diabetes clients is considered an asset
  • Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience working with electronic health care record; eg. Nightingale On Demand or PS Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision making, problem solving, organizational, conflict management and time management skills
  • Oral/written fluency in other languages relevant to providing service in the role would be considered an asset
  • Proficiency working with computers and medical software programs.
  • Ability to work with a interdisciplinary team
  • Sensitivity and awareness of cultural diversity issues
  • Current certification in CPR/First Aid or willingness to become certified.
