Job Summary


Reporting to the Senior People, Culture and Belonging Advisor the People, Culture and Belonging Advisor will provide People, Culture and Belonging programs and services, consultation and advice to management and employees of the National Gallery of Canada.

People, Culture and Belonging programs include recruitment, labour relations, employment equity, multiculturalism, code of conduct/ethics, accommodation, workforce adjustment, harassment complaint investigation, conflict resolution and process development.


Requirements:


EDUCATION

  • Postsecondary level education in industrial relations, human resources or administration from a recognized academic institution or equivalent experience and training, CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset;

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 35 years' work experience providing Human Resources service in a unionized environment in the following areas:
  • recruitment and selection, with an equity, diversity and inclusion lens
- talent management
- grievance hearings
- negotiations
- accommodation

  • HR process development
  • 3 years' experience working with an applicant tracking systems, HRIS system, MS Powerpoint, Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of various laws governing federally legislated employees (Human Rights Act, Canada Labour Code, Employment Equity Act, Accessibility Act).
ABILITIES/SKILLS

  • High degree of initiative, good judgment and the ability to work well under pressure;
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality;
  • Understands the complexities of a Crown Corporation.
