Position Overview:


As a Manger of Care for a 56 bed Behavioral Support transition neighborhood at Hawthorne, you will play a pivotal role in leading the delivery of top-notch healthcare services.

Summary of Role Responsibilities


Reporting to the Director of Care (Resident Services) and in keeping with the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of Hawthorne Seniors Care Community, offers clinical leadership and assistance to all members of the program; participates in and facilitates multidisciplinary, resident-centered care to achieve desired resident quality of life outcomes.

Acts as a clinical resource for the care team. Supports external communications in the absence of the DOC. Works with the other care team members in providing direct care for residents as needed.

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of care services within our dementia cottages
  • Develop and implement care plans for residents, ensuring their individual needs are met
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, making necessary adjustments as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of care
  • Provide leadership and guidance to care staff, promoting a positive and supportive work environment
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience

  • Current practicing membership in BCCNM as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing. Advanced preparation in gerontological nursing. 5 years experience working in LTC / Behavior Support Transition Neighborhood. Five years gerontology experience with at least two years working at a supervisory level OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a healthcare or senior living setting
  • First Aid / CPR
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field (preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of medication administration protocols and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage a team and prioritize tasks
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and analytical skills.
  • Welldeveloped management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and delegate work.
  • Able to instruct, provide clinical supervision, support and collaborate effectively with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to operate related equipment including computers utilizing standard software.
  • Willingness to support and embrace a culture of change.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to manage conflict.
  • Proof of full vaccination is required.
