Summary:

The Group Controller is responsible for leading the Divisional Controller team. Overseeing company financial health by taking ownership of financial reporting process and assisting Divisional Controllers with budget preparation.

Work with Vice Presidents of operations and Corporate Finance team, to provide support to business activities in the areas of accounting, compliance, internal controls, and information systems.

This position reports to the Vice President, Finance.


As a Group Controller, You Will;:

  • Provide analysis and support to business leaders to ensure understanding of business unit statements and financial implications of business decisions
  • Attend monthly business reviews with each business unit and report to the executive team
  • Understand and support implementation of cost control, job costing and forecasting systems at the corporate level
  • Assist with internal and external audits as required
  • Oversee monthly divisional profit/revenue recognition, develop, and analyze monthly cost reporting, and project forecasts
  • Support Divisional Controllers in investigating profitability issues and forecasts changes
  • Assist in the development of balance sheets, inventory control and risk management for business units
  • Oversee process issues and process improvement, ensuring adequate internal controls are in place
  • Lead and develop Divisional Controllers and individuals within different business units
  • Assist Vice President, Finance in special projects and other duties as required

What You'll Bring?:


  • 15+ years' relevant experience as a Controller or similar role
  • Experience in Construction and Manufacturing Industry is required
  • Professional accounting designation required
  • Previous leadership experience and strong decision making skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and excellent verbal and written communications
  • Advanced experience with MS Excel and date management
  • Strong financial reporting experience
  • Some travel is required to different divisions and project locations
