    Job Title- Director, Cybersecurity Operations

    Location- Calgary & Edmonton

    The Director of Cybersecurity Operations is a critical member of the Cybersecurity team and is responsible for monitoring and analyzing security threats, implementing protective measures, and coordinating with IT teams to enhance overall security posture. You will collaborate with executives to align cybersecurity initiatives with business goals and manage budgets for security programs. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of emerging cyber threats are essential for this role.

    You will work with and advise senior leadership, providing updates, metrics and solutions to various cybersecurity operational challenges and changes.     • Ability to lead a technology-focused and driven SecOps team, balance and prioritize across a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, and manage the team's coverage and growth.
    • Developing and overseeing incident response plans, coordinating responses to cybersecurity incidents, and ensuring timely resolution
    • Establish policies and develop procedures for all aspects of cybersecurity operations, focusing on threat modelling, threat hunting, digital forensics, and incident response.
    • Recruit and develop team members to support all aspects of cybersecurity operations.
    • Overseeing the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cybersecurity technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus solutions.
    • Build relationships with peers across the organization to develop effective, cross-departmental investigation and response capabilities.
    • Ability to provide clear, transparent leadership and engagement.
    • Demonstrable record of delivering critical solutions within tight time frames, with multiple stakeholder groups and competing priorities
    • Oversee day-to-day cybersecurity operations, Vulnerability Management program incident response, and threat intelligence.
    • Lead and expand the cybersecurity operations team, encompassing SOC, threat intelligence, and threat hunting teams.
    • Develop and execute robust SOC strategies, focusing on continuously optimizing security monitoring and response capabilities.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
    • Coordinate and participate in cybersecurity audits.
    • Strong crisis communication skills, with the ability to manage cyber incidents effectively.
    • Strategic thinking, organizational, and project management capabilities.

    Who You Are:

    • University Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
    • Over 10 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, with a proven history of building high-performing teams.
    • Experience in regulated industry.
    • Strong understanding of security frameworks and certifications, such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
    • Demonstrable expertise in cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices
    • Proven expertise in managing insourced, outsourced, and mixed-model cybersecurity operations.
    • Experience managing cybersecurity resources in a growing global company.
    • Experience in developing and providing executive communications.
    • Able to maintain composure during high stress situations.
