Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Manager F & B this position is responsible for serving the guests beverages with the strictest regard to rules, regulations and operational guidelines while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.

Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures.

This position may serve in a restaurant, buffet operation, on a casino floor, in a bar, at a banquet, in a theatre, in in-room dining or other areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Greets guests by name wherever possible.
Informs guests of any daily specials
Explains how various beverages are prepared if applicable.
Takes the guests' orders and makes recommendations
Prepares beverages if applicable.
Serves the guests and checks to ensure satisfaction.
Resolves guests issues or asks management for assistance.
Presents bill upon request and takes payment in the absence of a cashier.
Cleans tables or counters, removes glasses and restocks where applicable.
Delivers beverages to hotel rooms as directed where applicable and obtains signature and

- removes used trays

Performs opening or closing duties as required.
Counts cash float at end of shift if applicable.
Covers other bartenders' sections when required.
Exercises good judgment when serving alcoholic beverages according to Smart Serve
Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests,

- ownership and employees)

Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Education and Qualification Requirements:

High School Diploma or a minimum of one (1) year related work experience.
Smart Serve certified.
Ability to multitask and excel in a fastpaced environment.
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to perform tasks effectively and safely within prescribed time limits.
Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees and management as part of a team.
Ability to successfully pass criminal record check.
Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required.

Fast paced with multiple priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
This role requires a flexible schedule that adapts to the business needs of a 24hour operation; will have nontraditional work hours including evening and weekend shifts.
