WHAT YOU WILL DO


Operating within Forsite's Resource Management and Technology business area, the Fuel Management Specialist will work within a team of senior planners and forest analysts to develop and facilitate planning processes in response to a range of forest land management challenges.


The potential types of projects the role will be involved with may include developing fuel management prescriptions and tactical fuel management plans, prescribed fire planning, wildfire/fire behaviour modeling to support a range of strategic and operational wildfire projects and operational wildfire support in the case needs arise during the wildfire season.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • A safety conscious attitude;
  • Postsecondary education with a natural resource management focus;
  • Registered Professional Forester with the FPBC or AAFMP (or eligible);
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in wildfire and fuels management;
  • Broad understanding and implementation of forest land management concepts and practices;
  • Basic understanding of legislation and policy impacting land management in Western Canada;
  • Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS and Microsoft Office tools;
  • Operational forestry experience an asset.

  • Able to work with excellent attention to detail with work accuracy and quality.
