Responsibilities Include:
Provides guidance and advice to management and staff on the implementation of human
resources programs, policies and procedures
Provides advice and assistance to managers and staff to ensure compliance with Collective
Agreements and legislative requirements
Assist Supervisors with effective attendance and performance management
Responsible for full cycle recruitment for a specific portfolio of employee groups including creation
developing testing criteria, conducting interviews and reference checks
Assists in the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures
Facilitates the delivery of human resources programs and executes related strategies through
presentations and involvement on project teams
Participates on various committees, both in HR and for client initiatives
Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate University degree in relevant field (HR, Business etc.)
Three years of related experience
Proficiency with Google Applications and working knowledge of HRIS systems
Knowledge of the Education Act, the Ontario Labour Relations Act, ESA and other applicable legislation
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Initiative, tact and good judgement
Previous school board experience would be an asset
CHRP/CPHR would be considered an asset
Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
This is a full-time temporary position with an annual salary range of $81,639 - $88,555 (to be prorated to the duration of the assignment).
The anticipated start date of the assignment will be as soon as the recruitment process is complete with an anticipated end date of August 31, 2023.
Should an internal staff member be successful in the competition, they will return to their previous role at the end of the term.
