The Jr.

Quality Inspector oversees the quality assurance for specific production departments in accordance with plant policies and procedures to ensure a high level of quality control and smooth production operation.


Works in conjunction with Procurement, Production, and any other departments that influences the quality of the organization's products to maintain and improve all quality standards, processes, and systems.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Executes documentation, investigation, and disposition of noncompliant products.
  • Investigates customer complaints and conducts root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Documents and reports all noncompliance items to the Site Director.
  • Participates in the ongoing improvement and quality resolution issues;
  • Develops QA and compliance related monthly KPIs;
  • Develops and maintains quality systems, work instructions and training material to enable employees in all departments to prevent errors and/or inconsistencies.
  • Leads company through annual Keystone audit;
  • Maintains Vinylbilt Product Return Form (RMA) database, analyzes data and develops solutions to prevent reoccurrence as required;
  • Identifies areas of process waste, documents, analyzes, and implements solutions to reduce waste;
  • Develops business reports through Mikron;
  • Inspects all material and products ensuring material are in compliance with quality guidelines;
  • Works with R&D to ensure testing products meet company and industry standards;
  • Ensures packaging meets transportation requirements investigates any deficiencies and makes recommendations;
  • Provides objective and measurable evidence that our processes, products and materials meet the current quality standards;
  • Conducts inspections, audits, studies and analyses to determine cause, effect and corrective measures required to remedy deviations from desirable standards of quality;
  • Maintains adherence to quality through internal and external inspection services of raw materials, audits, finished items, purchased/produced and production operations and processes;
  • Manages corrective and preventative actions and nonconformance systems;
  • Identifies areas of concern and continual improvement opportunities;
  • Conduct periodic management review meetings to report on progress of projects and nonconformance items;
  • Conducts or initiates customer (dealer) visits as required to confer on specific quality issues;
  • Produces quantitative quality control reports on a daily basis to the Site Director with resolution or action plan on outstanding issues;
  • Provides quality control assurance assistance to all department personnel, ie., Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service/Service, in determining technical information related to the purchase of raw materials, inspections or testing of equipment;
  • Oversees inspection (examination) of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet requirements;
  • Ensures the CSA testing certification and audits always kept up to date;
  • Key role in research and development of new and innovative manufacturing and quality assurance production improvements;

Qualifications:


  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering or in related field or equivalent experience;
  • Experience in the Window Business, preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality standards, processes and procedures pertaining to a manufacturing environment;
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and effective written and oral skills;
  • Must possess solid organizational skills, and strong attention to detail;
  • Proactive thinker, selfstarter and problem solver;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Visio.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$17.00-$17.50 per hour
