If you have the desire to support the backbone of the Regional Organization and make an impact in your community then come join our team Working as an Applications Database Administrator supporting Oracle E-Business Suite, Enterprise Command Center, and Invoice Processing within the Database Administration and Business Intelligence team provides a diverse portfolio of projects to challenge you.

The Opportunity:


You will have the responsibility to provide technical guidance and support to clients and other ITS staff and maintain data security and integrity.

You will also provide analytical and technical support related to data analysis, predictive analytics, and visualization to support corporate and community endeavours.

You will create database technical specifications and determine system requirements based on client/business needs while forecasting growth.

We will look to you for analytical and technical support for data analysis tools and the use of the tools in relation to data requests, and business and client reporting requirements.


The requirements for this position would normally be acquired through knowledge of database languages, operating systems, development tools, and automation processes, normally acquired through a university degree in computer science or a community college diploma in computer systems technology, plus progressively responsible related experience in system development lifecycle processes and database administration.

Extensive Oracle experience is required and must include at least 5 years of managing performance, administration, and recovery in the Oracle 12c/18c/19c environments.

Solid background in performance monitoring and tuning, managing backup and recovery, planning and testing of software upgrades, enhancing HA and DR recovery operations and experience with Oracle EBS, ECC and AP Imaging considered an asset.

Knowledge of relational database concepts, and architecture and database server processes and experience with Business Intelligence platforms; data visualization tools; relational database management systems; statistical software; data ingestion tools and data driven process automation, and the ability to create and manage databases in multi-tiered and client/server environments.

Current knowledge and experience in writing and troubleshooting complex queries in SQL and PL\SQL. Experience with procedural or object-oriented programming (e.g. Python, R) and knowledge in machine learning modeling and implementation considered an asset.

Strong analytical, problem solving skills, math, and technical skills to analyze, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software problems, learn computer software programming languages, utility programs, and software products with limited formal training, and work independently.

Strong background in system design outlines/specifications, computer operator instructions, system specifications, and memos. Ability to read and understand policies, procedures, user/technical manuals, forms, contracts, and technical resources.
