Injection Mold Technician - Listowel, Canada - BTE Assembly Ltd

Job purpose
BTE Assembly Ltd is a family owned plastics manufacturing industry located in Listowel, Ontario. We currently have an opportunity in our Injection Molding Department.

This position is responsible for process adjustments to maintain quality standards, troubleshooting, scrap reduction, robot setup, and minor mechanical repairs.

Duties and responsibilities

• Problemsolving skills and initiative to keep machine downtime to a minimum.
• Prepare machines for machine startup and shutdown
• Working with priorities set by the supervisor, with mínimal supervision.
• Perform mold changes, using an overhead crane.
• Processing quality issues and ensuring process changes are logged as per procedure.
• Make machine adjustments to deal with production related quality issues, use log as appropriate.
• Start up, shut down machines including Robots, and minor repairs.
• Operate forklift to support the production area.
• Comply with established rules, procedures and Health and Safety mandates.
• Maintain 5S standards at all times.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and assigned housekeeping duties.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• 3 years' related experience in plastic injection molding manufacturing.
• Knowledge of injection molding process, molding equipment, molding materials, and mold tooling.
• Understanding of process change management.
• Ability to safely lift to 25 kg.
• Ability to read and interpret operating procedures.
• Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office products.
• Experience in automotive industry considered an asset.

Working conditions
This position requires continuous walking throughout the plant. Temperature may be warm at times when working in and around the machines.


Physical requirements
This position may require lifting and/or pushing at times which may weigh up to and including 25 kg.

Job Types:

$20.00-$27.00 per hour
