Operations Coordinator Student - Edmonton, AB
What You'll Be Working On
Our internships and Co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor.
We are seeking a student to join us for a 4- month co-op position starting in September 2023. This position will be based out of Edmonton, AB.
Responsibilities:
Assist in coordinating project activities- Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure seamless project execution.- Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.- Assist in tracking project progress and identifying potential risks or delays.
Provide administrative support- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, and reports.- Organize and maintain project files and records.- Assist in creating and updating project schedules.
Liaise with stakeholders- Communicate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to coordinate project logistics.- Assist in organizing meetings and site visits.- Help maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
Support operational efficiency- Assist in resource planning and allocation.- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.- Help monitor project costs and expenses.
Who We Need On Our Team- You are currently enrolled in a Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration diploma or equivalent program- You will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher- Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships- Exemplify the Ideal Team Player - Hungry, Humble, Smart- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills- Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude- Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries- If you are selected for a role with client specific requirements, you may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug testing.
