We are looking for a Maintenance Operator at our Walker NVIRO Biosolids Facility in Halifax, NS. This is a permanent, full time position. The starting rate is $25.44/hour, graduating to $27.52/hour over the course of time.


Responsibilities:


  • Participate in compliance monitoring.
  • Perform daily data entry.
  • Operate and maintain process equipment.
  • Ensure all regular/preventative maintenance is performed and documented.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, replacement parts and supplies.
  • Document daily processing parameters.
  • Maintain plant cleanliness and organization.

Requirements:


  • Heavy Equipment experience preferred
- (i.e. wheel loader)

  • Grade 12 graduate with some postsecondary training preferred.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Work in a rotating shift schedule with evenings and weekend work.
  • Be able to work alone occasionally.
  • Ability to work in small teams.
  • Have a mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot process and equipment issues.
  • Perform light preventative maintenance duties and support Lead Hand with larger repairs.
  • Familiarity with analytical sampling methods for environmental compliance monitoring.
