We are looking for a Maintenance Operator at our Walker NVIRO Biosolids Facility in Halifax, NS. This is a permanent, full time position. The starting rate is $25.44/hour, graduating to $27.52/hour over the course of time.

Responsibilities:

Participate in compliance monitoring.
Perform daily data entry.
Operate and maintain process equipment.
Ensure all regular/preventative maintenance is performed and documented.
Maintain inventory of tools, replacement parts and supplies.
Document daily processing parameters.
Maintain plant cleanliness and organization.

Requirements:

Heavy Equipment experience preferred

- (i.e. wheel loader)

Grade 12 graduate with some postsecondary training preferred.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Work in a rotating shift schedule with evenings and weekend work.
Be able to work alone occasionally.
Ability to work in small teams.
Have a mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot process and equipment issues.
Perform light preventative maintenance duties and support Lead Hand with larger repairs.
Familiarity with analytical sampling methods for environmental compliance monitoring.
