Job Summary


The Executive Assistant, Office of the Vice-President, Students plays a key role in providing confidential administrative support to the Vice President and and assists with the effective and efficient management of the Office of the VP Students.

The Assistant handles confidential materials and responds to sensitive situations with a high level of diplomacy and tact.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.


Minimum five (5) years of office administration experience, preferably at the senior assistant level and preferably in a post-secondary environment or similar complex organization.

Superior interpersonal, written, organizational, and time management skills.

Demonstrated experience working in a professional office environment, respecting both personal and professional boundaries.

Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to exercise a high level of professionalism including tact, discretion, and diplomacy.

Excellent knowledge of office practices and procedures.

Demonstrated experience in agenda preparation, note-taking, transcription, and follow-up.

Demonstrated ability to be Self-directed, proactive, and discrete.

Proven ability to work with mínimal or no supervision, multi-task, and work to tight deadlines with conflicting priorities.

Demonstrated experience in committee and executive support, and records management.

Experience in handling information and situations of a highly confiden tial and / or sensitive nature.


Demonstrated ability to model appropriate professional, ethical, and collaborative behaviors that engender collaboration, trust, and respect consistent with the responsibilities of this position.

Knowledge and understanding of post-secondary policies and procedures is preferred.
