Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinating and managing the pickup and delivery of groundtransported cargo.
Negotiating the best rates with vendors, Customers.
Provides friendly, positive, and helpful service to all clients, customers, and drivers.
Receive incoming calls from customers.
Plan, direct and redirect drivers as needed when breakdowns or other issues arise.
Enter shipment information into the computer system accurately and efficiently.
Efficiently dispatch equipment.
Prepare and file dispatch reports.
Track and report customer inquiries as required.
Assist in other areas within the department in the achievement of goals and objectives.

What you bring:

Completion of high school.
35 years in a transportation or dispatch.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong customer focus.
Proven ability to multitask & ability to prioritize tasks.
Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word.
Knowledge of industry an asset.
May be required to work extended hours including occasional weekends.
Additional or specialized training in transportation, logistics, or similar area of study
