We are currently looking for an energetic, hard-working Pour Bottle Lead Hand to work full-time on our Continental Night shift (19:00-07:00) at our Alliston facility.     The following are dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, jumpsuit, hood, hairnet, beard cover, gloves, isolation mask and boots (additional PPE required when cleaning)

  • What You'll Be Doing

    The Pour Bottle Lead hand is responsible for coordinating the PPB (Pour bottle fill and pour bottle pack) department, optimizing output while maintaining all quality and safety standards. The Lead Hand will monitor the activities of team members and machinery to ensure production of quality product in a safe and efficient manner. This position involves considerable hands-on equipment troubleshooting, and repairs. In addition the Lead Hand will perform MH/QA duties on an as needed basis.

    Duties performed on a rotational basis

  • Coordinate the operation of the PPB department on the day shift and create schedule.
  • Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments and repairs as required.
  • Responsible for escalating safety, quality, and production issues as appropriate. This includes reporting all safety incidents.
  • Coordinate all TMP/PM tasks
  • Ensuring all SOP's, GMP's and Safety rules are followed.
  • Prepare for batch and line set up.
  • Support EMS implementation which includes maintaining the department in 6S condition and participating in the IDEAS program.
  • Perform MH and QA/RK and line duties on an as needed basis.
  • Duties performed on a continual or intermittent basis

  • Learn, understand and apply thorough quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles

  • Successful completion of High school Diploma or GED
  • Experience within a manufacturing operation
  • English
  • Math
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting ability.
  • Practical experience using Lean tools (6S, LSW, VM, DA, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
  • People coaching and team development skills.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel & PowerPoint and Infinity, Dayforce, EBR and GME.
  • Good working knowledge of SOP's/specs, blueprints, PCS's and BOM's
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting automated equipment.
  • Demonstrated good attendance in present position
