Shallow Utility construction company is looking for an Excavating Equipment Operator to work in and around the
Edmonton, AB area.
Must Have or be able to
- Some contracts require preemployment Drug and Alcohol Test
- CSTS or PCST tickets
- Valid ABCGA Endorsed Ground Disturbance Level II ticket (ABCGA Ground Disturbance 201 Standard)
- Valid drivers license and relaible transportation
- be able to work in an outdoor environment
- be able work 6 sometimes 7 days a week 10 + hour days (depending on scope of work)
- be able to show up on site on time
- be able to work and follow safe work instruction
- some out of town work may be required. (Paid subsistence/travel time)
Additional Requirements or Asset or preference given to
- Underground utilities experience (gas, telecommunications, water, sewer)
- Any other safety tickets i.e. 1st aid, rigging and hoisting etc.
- Demonstrated ability to proficiently operate excavating equipment such as but not limited to backhoe, track hoe, skid steer around underground utilities.
- Experience operating rubber tire backhoe and/or excavating equipment in shallow utility construction
- Mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated safe work habits and adherence to safety regulations and practices on a sustained basis
- Demonstrate ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Demonstrate the ability to understand and Follow Safe work/job procedures.
- Initiative and sense of responsibility.
- Ability to become proficient in the use of power operated and hand tools, equipment and instruments
- General good health, adequate physical strength and agility
- Ability to absorb, follow and retain instructions relating to function
- Ability to walk around equipment and complete Daily Equipment check list and do regular maintenance as required such as greasing etc.
- Ability to provide running maintenance on all equipment
- Attention to Detail

- Considerable walking, bending and lifting
- Exposure to all weather conditions
- Out of town training and work may be required
Working safely and follow safe work/Job procedures is a condition of employment.
Wages are based on
ABILITY. Overtime at 1.5 the regular wage after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week. Again, based on ABILITY and experience
