Position Information:


The Junior Financial Analyst will assist the Ontario Workers Network (OWN) Finance Department with the maintenance and development of the financial operations, reporting, controls, and analytics of the Ontario Workers Network.


Rotation/Shifts:

Days, 8 hour shifts.


Responsibilities:


  • Supporting Financial Analysts in the delivery of financial operations:
  • Delivering monthly billing and accounting cycle;
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting process;
  • Conducting internal audits;
  • Preparing reporting;
  • Perform analytics;
  • Supporting Partner inquiries as required;
  • Supporting Financial Analysts in projects and ad hoc requests;
  • Liaise with stakeholders outside of OWN as required e.g. Corporate Finance, Arthur Health;
  • Maintain and evolve financial processes and tools:
  • Maintain and develop billing and reporting tools by collaborating with Financial Analysts and Arthur Health;
  • Review, improve, and develop financial processes to ensure quality financial data is produced;
  • As instructed by management, adapt reporting tools to new reporting requirements as neededAs instructed by management, adapt reporting tools to new data sources as needed;
  • Lead smaller projects as assigned by Financial Analysts

Basic Requirements:


  • 2 or 3 year community college diploma in Accounting, Business Administration;
  • Audit experience;
  • Experience working in large and complex organizations;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and business intelligence tools;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio);
  • Strong communication skills enabling clear interpretation of business needs (financial, accounting, BI related);
  • Good organizational, time management and task prioritization skills to meet critical deadlines;
  • Excellent documentation skills;
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders;
  • Identify and recommend areas for improvement;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • CPA designation;
  • Healthcare experience.
