Job Description - Transportation Structures EIT

Safe Roads Engineering (SRE) strives to provide clients with services and products that are among the best in the industry.

We specialize in design engineering; precast concrete structures, overhead sign structures, transportation structures, roads and highways, noise walls, and traffic management plans.

SRE is looking to add a Transportation Structures EIT to work out of our Aurora office with work from home abilities, working alongside our existing engineering team and other divisions within the Group.

This is a prime opportunity for a fresh grad to learn and expand their skill set.

Main Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis for 2D and 3D analysis of bridges, culverts, and other transportation structures;
Preparation of preliminary and detail design calculations;
Preparation of technical reports and evaluation of alternatives;
Preparation of contract specifications and other contract documents;
Site work including quality verification, field measurements, and inspections;
Coordinate between SRE and various subcontractors and/or suppliers and/or vendors;
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering program with a focus on Structural Engineering;
Eligible and working toward registration as Professional Engineer of Ontario (Registered P.Eng);
Good working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, and industry standard bridge design and analysis software (such as Midas Civil, CSI Bridge, RM Bridge, etc);
Familiarity of MTO and road related projects is an asset;
Bridge engineering or related experience an asset;
Construction site experience is an asset;
Excellent written and oral communication skills are a necessity.
