Your opportunity:

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for preparing common buffers, solutions, stocks, agar plates, and other materials. Preparing biological materials like competent cells, cell lysate, etc. Organizing the store, and keeping track of supplies; and updating inventory. You will also be responsible for washing/autoclave plastics, glassware, waste and organizing the lab for optimal workflow.


We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual who would like to further develop essential skills and valuable experiences in biotechnology and molecular biology.

Individuals that have strong critical thinking, theability to work on a team, are organized, and would enjoy helping to support research dedicated to improving the accessibility of health care are encouraged to apply.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Following rules and procedural instructions when restocking glassware in laboratories and/or store rooms
  • Paying close attention to occupational safety precautions
  • Providing orientation to others on work procedures and practices
  • Maintain/update shared online folders with common experimental protocols
  • Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area
  • Organize equipment repairs and organize general lab cleaning twice a year

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in molecular Biology and/or Biochemistry, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Laboratory Technician experience in a molecular biology laboratory
  • Practical experience in aseptic handling and molecular techniques
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to implement new/optimized procedures

Assets (Nonessential):


  • MSc in Molecular Biology is considered an asset
