IT Security Specialist I

Intertek is searching for an IT Security Specialist I to join our Connected World team at EWA-Canada in Ottawa, Ontario.

What you'll do:

Analyze product technical documentation.
Become proficient in all aspects of the Common Criteria and various Collaborative Protection Profiles that will enable you to evaluate a wide range of modern technology from a security perspective.
Perform manual and automated testing with mínimal oversight.
Create detailed reports documenting testing activities.
Work with IT as well as senior engineers to ensure thirdparty products are installed and configured properly.

What it takes to be successful in this role:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work well individually as well as in a team environment.
Positive attitude with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Desire to learn new products and technologies.
Commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity.
Proficient at MS Office programs including Word.

Preferred:

One or more years of Information Technology experience.
Experience with networking products.
Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., TLS, IPsec, SSH, MACsec).
Practical experience with packet captures (Wireshark).
