    Description

    YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

    :

    Reporting to the Asset Protection Supervisor, you will be part of the Asset Protection Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Access control monitoring and coordinating employees entering/leaving the mine site and or high security areas;
  • Responsible for security of production related areas and product movement, including safeguarding mining assets, including both physical property and intellectual property, safeguarding the physical safety of all personnel;
  • Overseeing and/or conducting searches of persons, property and coordinating onsite investigations as required;
  • Assist in Security Execution operations, coordinate and respond to all site-based emergencies, organize and conduct medical transport as required;
  • Aid in the prevention of theft, vandalism, trespassing and any other actions that may disrupt the safe and secure operation of the mine site;
  • Assist in training surrounding the execution of Security related activities ensuring competency and functionality of all Critical Controls relevant to the work;
  • Wildlife management through the use of deterrent device;
  • Administrative duties including but not limited to all related daily documentation;
  • Ability to liaison with local authorities and outside agencies as required;
  • Conducting video surveillance and dispatching on a daily basis;
  • Maintaining compliance of all security processes and procedures;
  • Water rescue response, initialization of search and rescue and operation of a pleasure craft vehicle;
  • Conducting any additional security related tasks and investigations as directed by the Detour Lake Mine Asset Protection Management.
  • WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • A valid Private Security and Investigative Services Issued Security Guard License;
  • A degree, diploma or certificate in Police Foundations, Law and Security Administration or a related program is an asset;
  • Police/Security training at an accredited institution with a minimum of 2 to 5 years' progressive experience in a security or police related role is essential. Prior law enforcement, military or intelligence background an asset;
  • Advance knowledge in investigations, interviewing and report writing is essential;
  • Knowledge of Mining/process environment is an asset;
  • Advanced MS Suite skills, MS Office skillset and PC based competency mandatory;
  • Strong communication skills in daily interactions and ability to formally present ideas to direct Supervision;
  • Sound analytical and evaluation skills. Articulate and able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff with diverse backgrounds;
  • Influential, with strong negotiation skills;
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills;
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace;
  • Willingness to obtain Certified Protection Officer(CPO) credentials mandatory;
  • Continued education in relevant field of study mandatory in order to maintain CPO designation;
  • Possess a valid Ontario Pleasure Craft license;
  • Possess a Restricted Operators Certificate for Aeronautical communications;
  • Possess a valid Possession & Acquisition license.
